The $139 covers the visit and full diagnosis. If you go ahead with the repair, it's applied to your bill — so the diagnosis is effectively free when we do the work.

Why Bother?
Honest answer: a well-maintained furnace doesn't need us often. That's the point.
Catches the cheap failure before it becomes the expensive one. A $40 flame sensor found in October is a service call. The same part failing at 11pm on a Sunday in January costs considerably more.
Keeps your warranty valid. Most manufacturers require documented annual maintenance. Skip it and a compressor failure in year seven comes out of your pocket.
Finds safety issues. Heat exchanger cracks and venting problems don't announce themselves. They're found by someone looking.
Lowers your bills. A dirty coil or clogged filter makes the system work harder for the same result. You pay for that in hydro and gas.
What it won't do is turn a 20-year-old furnace into a new one. If your system is near end of life, we'll tell you that instead of selling you a tune-up every year until it dies.
