What We Fix
Toronto summers are humid, which means your AC is doing two jobs — cooling the air, and pulling moisture out of it. A system that does the first but not the second leaves you with a house that's cold and clammy. Most "it's not cooling" calls come down to one of a handful of things.
Running but not cooling — Low refrigerant, which means a leak. Or a dirty condenser, or a failed capacitor.
Runs constantly, never satisfies — Undersized unit, failing compressor, or lost charge.
Ice on the lines or coil — Airflow restriction or low refrigerant. Shut it off and call. Running an iced system damages the compressor.
Water around the indoor unit — Blocked condensate drain. Cheap fix, expensive if ignored.
Outdoor unit won't start — Capacitor, contactor, or breaker. The capacitor is the most common cause and the least expensive part.
Hydro bill jumped — A system losing charge or with a dirty coil works far harder for the same result.
Cold but humid — Often an oversized unit. It cools the air fast and shuts off before it's removed the moisture.
Noisy outdoor unit — Fan motor, loose panel, or compressor. We'll tell you which.
A note on refrigerant: if your system is low, it leaked. Refrigerant isn't consumed. Anyone who tops you up without finding the leak is selling you the same repair again next summer.
Refrigerant work is licensed work — we hold 313A/313D refrigeration certification.
Repair or Replace?
We'll give you the honest version.
If your system runs on R-22, refrigerant is expensive and getting harder to source. A major repair usually isn't worth it. If it's a newer refrigerant and the compressor is sound, repair often makes sense.
Signs it's time to replace:
It uses R-22 and needs a significant repair
The compressor has failed
It's over 15 years old and losing charge repeatedly
Repair cost is approaching a third of replacement
We don't work on commission. If your AC has years left, we'll fix it and tell you so.

Air Conditioning Installation
We size the unit to your home — not to a rule of thumb, and not to the biggest one we can sell you.
This matters more with AC than with any other equipment. An oversized air conditioner cools the air quickly, satisfies the thermostat, and shuts off before it's pulled the humidity out. You end up with a house that's cold and damp, higher bills, and a compressor that wears out early from short cycling.
Correct sizing beats brand every time.
What's included:
Removal and disposal of your old unit
Full installation, line set and electrical
Correct refrigerant charge, weighed in
Startup testing and commissioning before we leave
Permits where required
Brands we install:
Goodman
Daikin
Carrier
Lennox
Trane
We install most equipment available in Canada. If you've got a preference, tell us — if you don't, we'll recommend based on your home, not on what we'd rather sell.
Every install is quoted after we've seen the house. A condo and a detached home in Willowdale are different jobs, and a price quoted over the phone without seeing your electrical, ductwork and where the condenser has to sit isn't a real price.
Ductless & Mini-Split Systems
If you don't have ductwork — or you have ductwork that doesn't reach where you need it — a ductless system solves it without tearing up walls.
Where they work well:
Additions and converted garages
Finished basements
Older homes with no ductwork at all
A single room that's always too hot
Condos where a central system isn't an option
Most ductless systems heat as well as cool, which makes them useful year-round rather than just in July.
We install, service and repair them. Same sizing principle applies — an oversized head unit short cycles just like an oversized central system.
Ductwork & Airflow
Some comfort problems aren't the equipment's fault.
If one room is always hot and another is freezing, or your system runs constantly without ever feeling right, the ductwork is often the cause — undersized runs, poor balancing, leaks in the trunk, or returns in the wrong places.
We diagnose airflow properly rather than assuming a bigger unit will fix it. Sometimes the cheapest improvement isn't new equipment at all.
What we do:
Airflow testing and balancing
Duct sealing
Ductwork design and modification for additions or renovations
Return air correction
Register and diffuser sizing
If your ductwork can't carry the airflow your system needs, we'll tell you that before you spend money on a new unit that won't fix it.
Commercial & Business Properties
Restaurants, offices, retail units, gyms and server rooms. Rooftop units, split systems and dedicated cooling.
Commercial work is quoted per site — your equipment, your hours, roof access, and how much downtime you can afford all change the job.
Call and describe the building. We'll tell you straight whether it's a fit, and if it's outside what we're set up for we'll say so rather than take it on and learn the hard way.
The Best Time to Book AC Service Is Before You Need It
Once the first heat wave hits, everyone calls at once. Members are booked ahead of everyone else, and a spring tune-up catches the leak or the failing capacitor before it fails in July. Plans start at $27.20 a month.

Call and we'll tell you when we can be there. During a heat wave we book up, so call early in the day. Maintenance plan members are booked ahead of non-members.

$139 service call, which covers the visit and full diagnosis. If you go ahead with the repair, it's applied to your bill. Evening, overnight and holiday rates differ — we'll tell you the number on the phone before we come out.

We can, but we'll find the leak first. Refrigerant isn't consumed — if your system is low, it leaked. Topping up without repair means you're paying for the same thing again next summer.

If it's R-22, a major repair usually isn't worth it — that refrigerant is expensive and getting harder to source. If it's a newer refrigerant and the compressor is sound, repair often makes sense. We'll tell you which situation you're in.

It depends on your home. Size of unit, electrical, where the condenser sits and whether your ductwork can handle it all change the number. We quote after we've seen it.

Usually an oversized unit. It cools the air fast and shuts off before it's removed the humidity. Correct sizing fixes it — a bigger unit makes it worse.
